SCM was founded by Brian A. Schaffield, who is SCM’s Managing Member, Financial Advisor and Portfolio Manager. After graduating from Harvard College summa cum laude in 1988, Mr. Schaffield worked for 15 years in top tier investment banks, including 10 years of experience in European and Emerging Markets, with extensive experience of non-US investment opportunities and related securities advisory transactions.

As an individual investor, Mr. Schaffield has over 20 years of experience and was an early investor in Asian stock markets as well as foreign bonds and high yield bonds. A resident of Santa Barbara since 2000, Mr. Schaffield takes personal responsibility for each client at SCM.
